We all must keep in mind that one of the pro's/con's to the RAM truck, unlike GM (and to some extent Ford), is that we can pretty much spec our trucks anyway we want without having to take "packages." But this also means that FCA has to walk a tight rope to meet gov't regulations on weight which impacts towing ratings and fuel economy certifications. I think the ultimate problem is that the plastic material is too thin (or at least too thin in the center section where there is tension from the latch). ![]() Whether the latest part number will be the final solution will reveal itself in time. I see that there have been 3 revisions of the part number 68402078A(A/B/C), I suspect FCA is quietly attempting to address the problem. I had mind adjusted at the dealer, but it's still a bit tacky looking.
